Sorry for the wait, everyone. I know it’s been over a week since I finished Puppetmaster, but I had some stuff to clean up IRL and I needed to make sure that my new project was where I wanted it to be. In the end, I found that Puppetmaster still wasn’t quite at the level of quality I was hoping for, so I redoubled my efforts and decided to challenge something a little different.
I now present to you The Age of Humanity May Be Over, But We’re Still Hungry (Hito no Jidai wa Owatta Keredo, Soredemo Onaka wa Herimasu Ka?) by Yasumi Atarashi and illustrated by Chocoan. For ease of reference, I’ll be calling it HitoHeri. The series was published by Dengeki Bunko and comes in at 2 volumes as of June 2019, which probably means that we won’t be seeing a third volume.
This novel is a wonderfully eclectic blend of post-apocalyptic science fantasy and food series, infused with a dash of comedy and a nice sprinkling of yuri. No matter what… interesting thing they decide to eat in any given chapter, it always ends up sounding great. Moreover, the variety of ingredients is supported by a surprisingly in-depth world, creating a reading experience I can’t say I’ve ever seen before.
At any rate, I hope this series tickles your tastebuds as much as it did mine.
(Oh, and one last thing — I’m looking at refurbishing the site’s visuals, so you can look forward to that, too~)
